A/N: I am the epitome of failure! But I have learned a valuable formula: Jet lag + Unplanned snowboarding + Christmas + 24/7 Family Time + Jet lag = NO WRITING
A/N II: Realized while writing that writing fully-formed canon characters is much scarier than writing barely-formed canon characters. Once again, you lot are seeing my first attempts.

A/N II: Oh, goodness. It fills me with such awful twisty guilty bad feeling to leave you guys hanging so long between chapters, but RL is just slaying me. I really wanted to get this out before Halloween, but (obv) that didn't happen. Also, didn't help that this chap turned into a monster twice the length it was supposed to be. Here, then, is 9A, to be followed by 9B, which definitely won't be out before Nov 12. In the meantime, enjoy this odd Friday in the life of Al Potter :)
